Marvel Studios will introduce their first Chinese superhero in ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ and will star Hong Kong superstar Tony Leung (‘Infernal Affairs’) as the real Mandarin. A fake Mandarin appeared in ‘Iron Man 3’ played Ben Kingsley and the Ten Rings were also featured in the Iron Man franchise.

Shang-Chi will be played by Chinese-Canadian actor Simu Liu who apparently only screen-tested last Sunday and was cast on Tuesday. Awkwafina will also star but there is no information on her role.
Chinese-American scribe Dave Callaham wrote the script for the film which Destin Daniel Cretton is directing.
‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ is released on 12th February 2021.
