Ewan McGregor walked out in stage at the Disney D23 convention to confirm that he will be reprising the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi for a live-action Disney+ series. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy added that all the scripts are written and it will shoot next year.
For a long time this project was rumoured to be a stand-alone Star Wars Story film but talk of that disappeared with the commercial failure of ‘Solo’.
The only detail provided about the series is that it will be set in the same time period as ‘Solo’ during the height of the Empire.
The show will be exclusive to the Disney + streaming service.
