Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios president and life long Star Wars fan, is teaming with Lucasfilm’s president Kathleen Kennedy to produce a new Star Wars film. Both companies are owned by Disney.
Walt Disney Studios co-chairman and chief creative officer Alan Horn has issued a statement saying:
“We are excited about the projects Kathy and the Lucasfilm team are working on, not only in terms of Star Wars but also Indiana Jones and reaching into other parts of the company including Children of Blood and Bone with Emma Watts and Fox.
With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathy is pursuing a new era in Star Wars storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together.”
‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ finishes the Skywalker story this December and no new Star Wars films have been officially announced but it is confirmed that Rian Johnson, D.B. Weiss and David Benioff have films in development. There are numerous confirmed Star Wars TV series on the way on Disney+
There is no news on the plot or potential release date for the Feige film.
