Series two of ‘The Mandalorian’ introduced Ahsoka Tano to live action and set up her quest to find Ezra Bridger. Ezra is the young Jedi introduced in ‘Star Wars Rebels’ and that series concluded with him lost in space along with Grand Adrimal Thrawn. For a long time it was thought that this story would play out in animation with a ‘Rebels’ sequel on the cards. With the announcement of an ‘Ahsoka’ live action series for Disney+ it now appears this is where the story will be brought to life.
Kessel Run Transmissions, who have been a source of valid information in the past, are reporting that Mena Massoud, star of the live action ‘Aladdin’, is in talks for the role. If Massoud takes the role it will bring the connection between Ezra and Aladdin full circle. The animated Ezra’s look and character were based on the animated Aladdin.
There are no announced production or release dates for ‘Ahsoka’ and considering how secretive Lucasfilm are we will probably not know who is playing Ezra until he appears on screen. It is also unknown how large the role will be.
